Chief Guest, Hon’ble Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India and Guest of Honor, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister, Gujarat inaugurated the conference on 11th February 2023.

More than 450 participants attended the conference physically and 350+ participants joined through virtual platform from across the globe for this conference. They were pleased with the topic, presentation and content of the talk.

Dr Anupam Sibal has handed over his charge to Dr Nandakumar Jairam who will be the new President of Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin for the next 3 years.

More than 120 renowned Speakers/Moderator/Chairpersons from across the globe covered various topics under Cardiac Sciences, Oncology, Neurosciences, Nephrology, Robotics, Transplant, Gastroenterology, COVID/Public Health, Leadership Mantra, Nursing, Nutrition and Physiotherapy.

There were panel discussions on “Women in Medicine” and “Young Doctors”.

GAPIO award ceremony was held on 11th February 2023. GAPIO Excellence Awards were presented by Hon’ble Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel.

GAPIO Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Prof. Dhavendra Kumar, Clinical Genetics and Genomic Medicine, Spire Cardiff Hospital, UK.
Dr. Prathap C Reddy Philanthropy Award was presented to Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu, Founder President and CEO of Blood Donors Organisation for Social Service and Centre for information.

Following awards were given in Distinguished Clinician Category:

Dr I A Modi Award was presented to Dr Ajay Kumar Duseja, Professor and Head, Department of Hepatology at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
GAPIO Surgical Excellence Award was presented to Dr Devendra Kumar Gupta, Former Professor and Head, department of Pediatric Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi.
GAPIO Excellence in Diagnostics Award was presented to Dr Anita Borges, Consultant Histopathologist at S L Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate and SRL Diagnostics.
GAPIO Excellence in Radiology/ Radiation Therapy Award was presented to Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena, Professor, Radiodiagnosis and Imaging at PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Following awards were given in Young Clinician Category:

Dr I A Modi Award was presented to Dr Sanjith Saseedharan, Head of department, Critical Care Medicine, SL Raheja Hospital, A Fortis Associate.
GAPIO Surgical Excellence Award was presented to Dr Saurabh Jain, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College at Indore.
GAPIO Excellence in Diagnostics Award was presented to Dr Tushar Sehgal, Assistant Professor at AIIMS, New Delhi.
GAPIO Excellence in Radiology/ Radiation Therapy Award was presented to Dr Chandrashekhara S H, Professor of Radiodiagnosis at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Following awardees were awarded in GAPIO Special Appreciation Award category:

Dr R R Khandelwal, Professor and HoD of Radiodiagnosis at Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur and Director at Kingsway Hospital, Nagpur.
Dr Naveen Thacker, Director, Deep Children Hospital and Research Centre, Gandhidham, Gujarat.
Dr Hena Butta, Senior Consultant, Microbiology at Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi.

Conference has been accredited with 4 Credit hours by Gujarat Medical Council and Session on Nursing has been accredited with 5 credit hours by Gujarat Nursing Council.
