Dr Aashay Shah, Consultant, Paediatric Gastroenterology, Ahmedabad, has presented a talk on “Hypertriglyceridema genotype, phenotype & follow up single centre experience in Indian Children” at 57th the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) held on 14-17 May 2025 at Helsinki, Finland.
Dr Ajay Kumar Duseja, Professor and Head, Department of Hepatology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, was conferred the EASL Distinguished International Recognition Award—a prestigious honour that underscores his outstanding contributions to the field of hepatology during recently concluded European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Congress 2025 on 7-10 May 2025 at Amsterdam, Netherland.
Dr. Ashish Gandhi, Consultant, Department of Gastroenterology, Gandhi Hospital, Aurangabad, Maharashtra have won the World Cup of Endoscopy at San Diego, DDW 2025. India secured top 2 spots (First & Second place – Dr. Amol Bapaye & Dr. Ashish Gandhi) against China, Japan, Ecuador, Malaysia, USA and Canada
Amongst 197 video nominations, top 8 were selected for the World Cup! India secured the top 2 spots which marks a milestone achievement in Pediatric advanced endoscopy, A novel endoscopic technique for Pediatric achalasia.
Dr. Ashok Seth, ‘Padma Bhushan’, ‘Padma Shri’ and ‘B. C. Roy’ Awardee, and chairman – Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, has following achievements:
- Attended The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI), 2025 Scientific Sessions as international faculty held on 1–3 May 2025 at Washington DC, USA.
He participated as:
- Panelist in key sessions on Cardiogenic Shock and Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Live Case Discussions from Mexico City.
- Presenter for TAVR in Complex Bicuspid Anatomy.
- Table Discussion Leader at the Fellows Summit “Meet the Masters” networking event.
Dr Seth attended EuroPCR 2025 as faculty from 18th-23rd May at Paris, France
His roles included:
- Anchorperson and Speaker at the “Myval Transcatheter Heart Valve” symposium and “My Worst PCI Complication” session.
- Discussant for several LIVE educational cases including Complex PCI from Madrid.
- Spokesperson in the session on recent stent technologies and clinical evidence.
- Physician Trainer for IVL technology workshop.
- Participated in multiple preparatory, editorial, and board meetings (AICT-AsiaPCR, PCR Online Editorial Board).
These engagements reflect Dr. Seth’s continuing global leadership in interventional cardiology and his commitment to advancing education, clinical practice, and international collaboration.
Dr. Bellamkonda Kishore, Academician, Innovator and Entrepreneur, has published a book titled Naturalized US Citizen: Culture, Tradition, Integration, Loyalty, and Patriotism with a subtitle Journey of an Immigrant Scientist.
Dr Kishore also contributed a section titled Across the Globe: Unfoldment of Life by Itself: Journey of an Academician, Innovator & Entrepreneur in the book Immigrant Doctors: Chasing the Big American Dream.

Dr. Kandamaran Krishnamurthy, Consultant Pediatric- Intensive Care Unit from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados has co-authored an original article, “Level of Knowledge and Preventable Risk Factors of Congenital Malformations amongst Pregnant Mothers in India” which is been published in “Advances in Human Biology” on 10th May 2025.
Dr Kandamaran has been invited as one of the Judge for oral presentations in CARPHA 69th Annual Health Research Conference held on May 7th -9th 2025 in Barbados.
Dr. Keerti Singh, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Cave Hill campus, Barbados, University of the West Indies, was the Host Editor for the special edition of Frontiers in Public Health Education and Promotion, ” AI in Public Health Teaching and Education: Current Trends and Future Outlook”.
She led a Panel discussion on “The Ethics, Ownership & Legacy of Museum Curation” as a side event of the 69th Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) conference and on the launch of The Cecil Cyrus Caribbean Museum of Medical History (CCCMMH).
Dr Lavanyakumari Thondavada, the founder and current president of the Geriatric Society of Trinidad & Tobago (GSTT), authored an article titled “Championing the Dignity of Our Golden Years” in the local newspaper We. The piece highlights the importance of caring for the elderly population, emphasizing the need for dedicated support at both primary and tertiary care levels, as well as through awareness camps aimed at improving their well-being.
Dr. Meenakshi N, Consultant, Family Physician and Public Health Specialist in Noida, was honored with the Magnanimous Award of excellence in healthcare by the Smt. Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister, Delhi, on during multispecialty national conference on obesity and heart failure in women in New Delhi.
Dr. Milind Chitnis, Associate Professor & Head- Department of Paediatric Surgery, Frere Hospital, Department of Health, Eastern Cape Government, East London, South Africa, was the chair of the local organising committee (LOC) for the biannual Congress of the South African Association of Paediatric Surgeons (SAAPS2025) at the Mpekweni Beach hotel near East London in South Africa from 1 to 4 May 2025. This was a part of the celebration for the 30 years after the foundation of the Department of Paediatric Surgery in East London.
He delivered the prestigious Professor Jannie Louw Memorial lecture at the Congress. The title of his talk was ” From rags to riches: Dreams do come true”.
As the Honorary Secretary of the Pan African Association of Pediatric Surgeons (PAPSA), Dr Chitnis actively assisted the local organising committee in the planning and execution of the biannual Congress (PAPSA2025 Abidjan) in Abidjan Cote dIvoire in the last week of May 2025. He was a trainer for the first Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS) Pediatric Trauma workshop before the Congress. He was the African Professor for the Hendren project webinar on the African Solutions for African Problems at the end of the Congress. This was the first bilingual (English and French) PAPSA Congress. It was well attended by colleagues from all over Africa and beyond.
Dr. Premkumar Balachandran, Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead at Chennai have been appointed as “Director – South Zone” off the ‘ Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Surgeons Community”.
He reviewed the article “Is mesh essential in laparoscopic hiatal surgery? Analysis of 30-day outcomes from the ACS – NSQIP data base over eight years” which has been published in ” Frontiers of Visceral Surgery”.

Padma Shri Dr Sudhir Parikh, Chairman-Center for Asthma & Allergy, Chairman & Publisher -Parikh World Wide Media Chairman-ITV Gold (24/7 TV Channel) and Vice President – GAPIO, was inducted into Rutgers University Oral History Archives and Living History Society.
Dr. Vemuri S Murthy, an Indo-US Resucitation Expert and Professor (Associate Adjunct), Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois was honored with “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 2025 Annual Convention of Indo-American Press Club held at Poconos, Pennsylvania on May 5, 2025, in recognition of his “visionary leadership, dedication, and contributions to Society” and commending his ongoing contributions to Medical Journalism.
