The first inaugural Clinical Knowledge Development Program was organized by Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO) in association with Apollo Hospitals, at Auditorium, Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi on 28th July 2019. This was the first program in the series of total 12 programs.
Program was inaugurated by Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group and Founder President of GAPIO in the presence of world renowned oncologist, Padma Shri Dr. Datta Nori, from Sloan Kettering Hospitals, USA, Chairman of Radiation Oncology Unit at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, Prof. N K Ganguly, Former Director General – Indian Council of Medical Research, Dr. Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director, Apollo Hospitals, Vice President of GAPIO, Dr. Subramanian, Director Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals, Mr. Shiv Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Hospitals, Southern Region, Mr. C P Tyagi, Head Finance, Apollo Hospitals, Delhi along with senior consultants from Fortis Hospitals, Max Hospitals, Columbia Asia Hospitals and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Dr. Nazir Arab, member of President’s Council of GAPIO from Tanzania, Dr. Rajiv Sinha, Secretary, IMA, South Delhi, Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya from Kolkata, Dr. Geeta Batla, Head – Medical, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Dr. Binit Shekhar, Deputy Head – Medical, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
There were 4 sessions on Cardiology, Diabetes, Oncology and Nephrology.

The inaugural event on Clinical Knowledge Development Program will be organised on Sunday, 28th July 2019 at Auditorium, Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi.
Renowned speakers, Padma Shri Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori, International Director – Oncology Services, Apollo Hospitals Group and Chairman of Radiation Oncology Unit at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, Dr. S K Wangnoo, Senior Consultant, Endocrinology, former physician to President of India, Dr. Sai Satish, Senior Consultant – Structural Cardiology and Dr. Sanjiv Jasuja, Senior Consultant, Nephrology will address the younger generation of medicos during this program.
In 2017, GAPIO had launched a Leadership Development Program in order to enhance soft skills of young medicos. GAPIO has conducted 17 soft skills enhancement training workshops at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, Mumbai, Indore, Pune, Bilaspur, Mysore, Vizag, Madurai and Bhubaneswar.
